MY SCHEDULE OUTLINE FOR WORKING FOR MYSELF

Hey Nomad Crew.

I have a lot of you asked me what my schedule outline was when I traveled for 4 months last year and what I do when I work for myself fulltime for part of the week. Well, this post will help you create a schedule that will work best for you and your biz. Well, simple enough is called balance. Figuring out what you need to get done each day, week, month, and year. Setting mini and realistic goals to help you stay on task. I highly recommend getting a planner, downloading a planner app on your phone (iPhone’s I recommend Readdle calendar), notebook, your website platform app, and a quick fast working laptop (seriously will make a difference).

Start by making a list of everything you want to get done in 1 month, 3 months, 6 months, 9 months, and then a year. By breaking it down, you can focus on how much time you need to focus on that one certain task.

For say you were creating a blog post, well you need to do is:

1. come up with what the post will be about

2. rough draft it

3. create the title post block outline (this is what have at the top of all my posts)

4. fill in the post block with your content pictures

5. add in links if there is any

6. add in any sponsorships or collaborations if doing so

7. edit rough draft - do grammar and spell check

8. spend off the copy to the company or brand if that is the type of post and needs approvals

9. create your social media content and message for the post

10. do a final review

11. post

Yes I know that is a lot of steps, but it’s important to your viewers and readers that you create content that will meet your standards and theirs.

Next, set a time limit on how long you are going to be putting in work for that week and day. Trust me, I have a bad habit of overworking throughout the week or going with the flow whenever I have the free time to get extra work done. And I said I will sometimes overwork, I mean that I will put in a 60-80 hour workweeks on top of my part-time job on the weekends. A few of those extended hours are for my branch business which is my Outdoor and Travel Photography business. So if you have multiple or one business, make sure you can work around your scheduled appointments as well.

I love working for myself because I can create my schedule that fits into what I'm doing during the week and able to plan ahead for other months. You are able to create the content you want to post about. To find content that will express your brand and business. Then slowly expand your knowledge in the field. Expanding your knowledge in that field will you express your content even further as the years go by.

So I hope this gives you an idea of how I plan out my businesses throughout each month. If you have any further questions, please feel free to email me. If you are looking for more guidance on how to start working for yourself, please check out my Apprenticeship page.
